Mosaic Artists of Canada is thrilled to announce its first virtual exhibition entitled HOME. This is a members-only, non-juried, FREE, exhibition. The theme for the online exhibition was chosen by members.
HOME is where stories begin. It may be a landscape we know by heart, the traditions that guide us, a language that binds us, the people we gather with, or a feeling we carry within. Mosaic Artists of Canada invites its members to share their personal interpretations of ‘HOME’ through their mosaic voice. Whether rooted in geography, community, memory, or imagination, each artist explores the theme from their own unique understandings and experiences.

Blooming - Congratulations to Madeleine Turgeon!
« Blooming» evokes the delicate moment when life emerges and reveals itself, in a continuous interplay between shadow and light. At the heart of this vibrant composition, a nest rests as an anchor: an intimate refuge, a protective sanctuary, and a symbol of a life unfolding. Through the assembly of glass fragments, smalti, beads, and materials of varied textures and transparencies, the artwork conveys the richness, fragility, and complexity of life itself. Colors seem to radiate from the nest, unfolding into an organic bloom that evokes the cycles of nature and the silent strength that allows all things to take root, grow, and flourish.
The nest, which has developed at the heart of the flower, also represents an inner home: a space we carry within ourselves, where our memories, dreams, desires, and potential settle. It is both a place of rest and a starting point, a space where life prepares itself before opening up to the world.
« Blooming» thus celebrates the beauty of beginnings and the transformation that so often takes place in silence. The piece invites us to embrace what is germinating within us, with patience and trust, until the moment when, like a blossom unfolding, life finds its fullest expression.
Thank you to WitsEnd Mosaic for their sponsorship of the People’s Choice Award.
